Marc Jacobs Spring 2013

We think the Marc Jacob’s show last night was pretty genius, in a simple toned down Marc kind of way that is.
The collection took us back to the days of retro cool when NYC It-girl Edie Sedgwick ruled the city. Without trapping us in the 60’s as much as we first expected, the show was very now and very Marc. The collection consisted of punchy black and white colors of stripes and parallel  lines. We assume smudgy black eye-liner might not be a look everyone will want to re-live, but when Marc says it’s cool, it’s cool. With petal pants and skirts slung low on the hips, there was definitely a pop culture edge that seemed to have a cheeky quality. This was actually our second show of the week that had a nod to the 1960’s. We wonder if this will be a mini-trend going forward for Spring?
